This fucking cocksucking religion ruined my youth with its bullshit and hocus-pocus. Celibacy is not a natural state and there is nowhere in the Bible that says priests should not marry. So by enforcing this rule, these holy arseholes have attracted every kind of pervert you can imagine. Who wouldn’t want a free house, car and a few altar boys to diddle? And don’t even get me started on the Pope and his antiquated view of the world and birth control. Or the nuns I had as a kid who beat the shit out of me with a goddamn yardstick. This represents God? Thanks, but no fucking thanks, I’d rather believe in a fire hydrant. This religion should be considered a cult and outlawed.

  1. I too was brainwashed as a child by the cult – and essentially gave up my first 15 years of life to pure guilt over everything from “missing church” to normal adolescent development (read: feeding the geese) … the parish priest was even accused of diddling boys – luckily I wasn’t one of them. But, being associated with his parish, people have this crazy assumption that I was molested there… my parents still ask me if he ever did anything to me… like wtf…. if that man even laid a finger on me, i’d be the first one trying to get a piece of the million dollar settlment pie. These are the same parents who still demonstrate disdain over my choice not to live a “religious” life.

So, in my opinion and bitcheyness, I thnk it’s high time to shut them down, liquidate their billions of dollars in assets and do some “real” good with the money – isn’t that what they are meant to do? In the very lest, give back the moeny to all those people who paid upin the collection plates… they shouldn’t be paying for the horny priests diddling ways…

  2. This bitch is another reason why I
don’t believe in freedom of speech.
    You know, in some countries,
they’d shoot people like the OP.

  3. io had an i/o malfunction.
    parsing buffer overload.

    sed -e “s_don’t_definitely_g’

    now you’re making sense again.

ps. though I have catholic friends, I don’t hold that against them.

  4. If these priests were allowed to marry..that does not stop them from being the type of perverts that molest little boys and threaten them that they will go to hell if they tell! The church knew this shit was going on and they just moved the priest to another location to do it again, and now we see what type of pervert was working his way up to Bishop! Ahh this is so sickening!!!!! If there is a Hell I hope its full of these Bible Thumpin Fu$#er’s!!!!!

  5. These perverted fucks will have to explain their evil doings when their time comes and they’re standing before God. Evil hides behind the holy shroud and people do walk with Satan’s limbs.

  6. Smarter than U? Are you really?

If I’m standing before Buddy Christ (yes, I’m mocking Captain Omnipotence), I’ll be punting for the junk.
How the fuck to people like Britney Spears/Paris Hilton get everything spoon-fed and I get this stick-up-the-ass shaft. And I’m not even the worst case scenario….
in fact, far from it…. I’m like the 3 000 000 000th worst off out of the 6 000 000 000 people or so… I’m only the median people! the MEDIAN!

  7. Thankfully I stopped going to Church when I was about 6 years old. It scared me and I hated it.

On the other hand, while these stories obviously make huge headlines, it is still a relatively small percentage of priests who do this stuff.

  8. Priests, like cops, generally have good intentions at heart but get a bad wrap due to a rotten few.

I think forced celibacy is wrong. And, I think a priest who had practical experience in the problems of his parish would be of more use (relationships, family, etc.). That said, I understand why demanding celibacy continues within religions. It is almost impossible to give yourself fully to your spiritual choice when distracted by the demands and needs of a family.

  9. I agree with Ustwess, let the Vatican pay for the crimes of the priests. They’re the ones hired them in the first place, I assume?

  10. Religion is a fear tactic, plain and simple. It’s basically law (before we had actual laws) mixed with myths to keep people in line…

  11. Hey, if potential criminals stay in check due to religion (while paying their keepers), it sounds like a sweet plan to me.

  12. Its been said before, but once more won’t hurt…If money is the root off all evil, why do all churches constantly try to get more & more of it ?
If, & its a really ,really , really big if in my mind I ever stand before god , I’m going to ask him why he allowed so much terrible shit to go on in his name !
I’m not worried about offending him, because quite simply RELIGION has nothing to do with GOD… NOTHING !!!
Religions are constructs by man to control other men (& women of course) & to acquire wealth .So I sleep very well at night & have no worries in my mind at all by staying as far away from every organized religious group I can !

  13. I can’t believe catholics reading this are putting up with publicly dissing their clerics terrible behavior. If this were other world religions there would be a bomb to pay for your comments. Catholics are such pussies.

  14. so basically what ive been learning for the past few years of university is that the earth is so overpopulated and resources are almost past the point of self-renewal that the human species (according to a large number of experts) will not survive much past the year 2050…. and birth control is still condemned by religious nut heads. .. amazing.

  15. people, if you want to believe in an unseen being, fill your boots. but damn well do not try to ram it down my throat. if there is such a place as hell,so be it, if i go there.
as to these people not being allowed to marry or have girlfriends, well that helps rapists only, not the pedos.these guys have something fucked up going in,not while they are there, or after awhile.they are the closeted guys the churches warn you about.
don’t get me wrong or twist what i say, this is my take on this, and it makes me sick, that churches will try to either hide or refute this stuff. there are all kinds of weird people in this world,i am a sort of one muself, weird that is, not a pedo or anything like that. but there is some sick fucks running loose, that should be, at best, shot.
then there is the part of church, that says you have free choice, if that is so, then how come these people are still hurting people’s lives.religeon at best is just about dead. and yes, there will still be the die hards around, that preach peace and love, while fucking little johnie’s ass,and telling him that he will go to hell, if he doesn’t do what the preist wants him to do.
this is longer than i wanted, but it affects not only me and mine, but everyone else too. they want your money for this and that, but most from the catholic church, goes overseas. to the biggest crooks in the world, the vatican.
this is just too much bullshit, and i am not going to bother adding more, we all know it’s wrong, and we all know if there is some god or whatever, these people will get what they so richly deserve, if not now, sometime later. but who really wants to wait for that later, right?

  16. More you have the quote wrong. It is not “money is the root of all evil”, it is from 1 Timothy 6:10, “10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”

  17. If the only piercing being done was with sorrows we wouldn’t have these lawsuits and scandals.

  18. Anyone who can sit and say that the fact that priets have to remain celibate has nothing to do with the alarmingly high rates of pedophilia need their heads examined! Come on people!! This is not just one or two priests we are talking about here!! It is a TON and really, with the advent of the internet etc the truth is just starting to come out now!! I had a friend in junior high who ended up in constant trouble and no one could figure out why. He was a good kid, smart, great parents etc.. finally after about his 6th stint in jail the truth came out. He was an alter boy and the priest was diddling him. His parents, good upstanding Catholics, turned a blind eye to it.
Hypocrisy. The very reason I do not believe in organized religion. You worship your way, I will worship mine thank you.

  19. Actually the prevelance of offenders in the Catholic Church appears to be somewhere between 1 and 3%, which is probably the same or lower than the general populace. The reason of course why it is so horrible is one expects safety. To brush the whole church by the actions of a very few is wrong. If you do then be prepared to hate doctors, firefighters, police officers, office workers, grocers, and every other occupation out there because there are sexual offenders in all of them.

  20. I just heard on CBC radio about a Trans-man who has been fired by a Catholic School Board, as “the church’s teachings don’t support changing one’s sex”.

    …..

I laughed when I heard all the “expressions of pain and sorrow” and the hope that priests and followers could sit together and draw strength. Bullshit

It was revealed 20 years ago that he had child porn, and no one, especially the church, did anything.

I was hard-core catholic for 15 years, including thrice a week mass. I finally woke up after asking myself why the pope lived in opulance while people starved.

Hell, if it exists, is full of popes.

  21. I am so glad I was never baptized and had parents who knew better than to indoctrinate their child into this crap! Scary!!

  22. BRO TIM thank you…which only begs the question of why the church (& catholic church in particular need so much of it )

  23. “Who wouldn’t want a free house, car and a few altar boys to diddle?”

I’ll take the house and car, please. You can keep the altar boys.

  24. More, there are obviously excesses within the catholic church, but a lot of the money that gets donated does go to good causes. There are lots of charity programs funded by donations of the church going community. It doesn’t all go to opulent lifestyles. Also, I have been to some of the houses of local church officials and I can tell you that some of them don’t exactly live the high life. I wonder actually how much of the Vatican’s riches today are due to donations from parishoners and how much is just the left overs from the centuries of bad church practices.

  25. Im in total agreement with Bro Tim! I coulnd’t have said it better myself. You will run into sexual offenders in all walks of life no matter what their career choice… its really too bad that the poor decisions and actions of some priests aquire such a negative view of the church

  26. Ladytoner12: I think people already have a negative view of the church and sex offender priests just give them another reason to bash something they already hate.

  27. I think another reason people tend to think ‘Catholic Church & paedophiles’ in the same thought is because, even though it is only a small percentage, there has been so much done historically to cover everything up, such as moving a priest from one parish to another without informing the new congregation.

  28. I disagree Bro Tim. The difficulty with the diddling priests of the church is the level of hypocricy. They set themselves up as the moral and ethical compass for the communities over which they preside. Then they commit some of the most abominable actions within that community.

Not only that but usually when somoeone from another profession is found to be a pedophile they at least get fired, possibly jailed, hopefully castrated, and vilified by the public. Priests on the other hand, oh no, they get moved to a different community enabling them to continue their despicable behaviour. The church merely sweeps it under the rug. And the community then forgives the “poor man who is fighting with his personal demons.”

  29. I realize that the catholic church probably has more belonging to it and is bigger as a whole, but other christian churches who don’t require their ministers to adhere to celibacy don’t seem to have a problem with child molestation and child pornography. Or so it would appear to me.

I’m not religious in the least, and I think Bill Maher is right when he says that people only turn to God in times of crisis. Should be interesting to see who people turn to now…

  30. Miles, when the Catholic diocese in Los Angeles were ordered by the court 2 years ago ,July 2007 (it was at the time the largest payout at 660 million) for 15 accused priests over a span of time from the 1940’s to 1990 & there was proof the church knew about many of the abuseive priests & simply moved them elsewhere . The Cardinal of LA made a comment on how the LA diocese would have to sell of a couple of property assets to pay the $660 MILLION DOLLAR FINE !
This one small Area of California that the Church has been in for what… 200 years or less ,has acquired BILLIONS of dollars & needs no help to pay such a fine !
Me THinks You Are Just Another Brainwashed Individual ….who believes everything the church tells you …with those kind of assets, there shouldn’t be one hungry person or even 1 homeless one in all of California ! But we all know that place has hundreds of homeless who sleep out side of palaces…sorry churches ! ! ! Can you not see the hypocrisy in that…charitable religious orders with billions, living high on the hog while people starve right outside the door !
The church is living true to form…acquiring as much as they can & keeping most of it, while dribbling out petty amounts to their “charitable causes’.
IMO anyone who gives their money to these people are just attempting to BUY THEIR WAY INTO HEAVEN.
Seeing as in my family (United Church mom, Catholic Church dad ) they’re all the same Control ,control ,control & money , money , money along with their wonderful teachings of us all being useless, weak & sinners who deserve to be in hell, IF we don’t obey so they can save us .
Well that BS & the fairy tale about Santa are as far as I am concerned one & the same…except of course Santa hasn’t had to make any large financial payouts… because he hasn’t diddled any children !

  31. I was raised in a religous ( although not catholic) family. I was puzzled and confused by the hypocracy that is prevelent throughout the bible. Until I started researching christianitys origins. As it turns out, the bulk of the text in the bible was writen over a thousand years after the fact. The entire religion has been fabricated to keep the rank and file in line and scared. If god is an almighty being who created the heavens and the earth, all the creatures that swim walk or fly, and is omnipotent, why does he need to take money from little old ladies on a fixed income???
I think we should take a page from the romans, round up all the christians we can find, and set up an arena with some lions. They could televise it on Fox and generate enough income to help the souls that have been “touched” by the hand of god.

  32. As for the wealth of the Catholic Church, one must remember it has been aquired over a period of almost 2,000 years. Alot of it was not worth much at the time and became valuable over that time. The works of Michaelangelo, DaVinci, Bach and others were not worth anything at the time (say the equivilence of a CD or a $40 painting from one of the galleries).

Of course some in the Church (as well as many other organizations) have done wrong things, broken laws and covered up misdeeds but they are the exceptions, not the rule.

H_d, a funny thing about those Romans, they didn’t destroy the church and in fact within 300 years adopted the church.

BTW I’m not Catholic but a smoking, drinking Baptist, who uses a bit of common sense.

  33. More, I’m not brainwashed. I’m not even Catholic. I was just trying to point out that, despite all the shitty stuff that the church is responsible for, it is also responsible for some very positive things as well. Churches are full of charitable people who care about their communities and not all clergy are living it up on the parishoners dime. If you look at the budgets for some of the local parishes you will see that many barely cover their operating costs yet these same parishes are the ones running programs to feed and cloth the homeless in our community. I’m not a huge fan of organized religion, but I recognize that it can be a positive presence in a community and that people who believe in such things can be very decent human beings. These gross generalizations that religion is about power and control and extorting money and brainwashing and manipulating the sheep-like masses is narrow minded. The Catholic church needs reform, but it’s not refuse.

  34. I don’t think celibacy has anything to do with preists molesting children. Yeah it’s not natural and they would be better off being able to fuck openly (I don’t believe for a second that preists don’t at the very least jack off every now and then and then pray for forgiveness). Depriving people of sex doesn’t suddenly turn them into pedophiles. Pedophilia is a fetish just like any other fetish. Pedophiles tend to go for jobs where they will trusted to be alone with young children; preists, sports coaches, teachers etc. That’s why we see abuse from preists, not because they are celibate.

  35. It’s not celibacy that’s the issue, at least for me. It’s mandatory celibacy. It sounds all very reasonable when a young person is in the thralls of religious zeal. But, once the passion for God has calmed down some, the body’s passion springs up to takes its place (no pun intended).

  36. But priests have and do resign their priesthood to get married and still can work for the church in other areas or have gone to Protestant churches. Plus there are the nuns. LOL.

  37. Imagine the emotional strife a priest or nun would face before they finally decided to break their vows. I mean, they marry God, don’t they? I wondered if it is akin to a divorce in their mind. I think it takes a very strong person to admit to themselves, the church and God that what is asked of them is more than they can give. It is the ones who stay–who try to hide their human desires–that are weak. (That is not to say that all priests and nuns are weak, only that I believe many find it too much, but rather than admit defeat, they lead double lives.)

  38. This crime is not exclusive to the Maritimes and the comment supporting this is incorrect, insulting and inflammatory. Stop the tunnel-vision. Paedophelic priests have been found across the globe. Some people need to get over themselves.

  39. lmfao i see kay resurrected her desi persona for the occassion in a vain effort to try to make everyone think they arent the same person……floyd where are you lol

  40. I’m sorry to say this, I was born and baptised a catholics. I came from very religious catholic parents when I was in Philippines. Now I recided in US for decades. My Hubby is not catholic but of course I went to his church which is I felt very welcomed none judgemental church and a very friendly people and Minister. One time I tooked my hubby to a catholic church. He was very amazed how catholic services and how people reacted inside the church with out welcoming everyone! That was the last time I set my foot in Catholic church. I realized now how judgemental catholics are. With thier stupid policies and rules. Catholics are culturals and not spiritual anymore! Its a fuck up and stupid religions. Don’t judge me my beliefs in God would never changed it continues more. I just don’t get it to continued going to catholics churches. Catholics religions if you don’t belong to them you are not welcome at all. In eyes of God Jesus Christ he will welcome all of us that believes and worship him as we are all brothers and sisters. Here’s how fuck up catholics are you can’t marry in catholics because she/her is not catholics, it needs to be both catholics, you can’t baptise your child because parents are not married to catholic church and I can keep going on.
