Mary Wile votes the wrong way on everything: she voted against censuring Peter Kelly, she voted to remove the Hydrostone from the north end BID, for the sale of St. Pat's-Alexandra, for the stadium, for moving Skye development to public hearing.

It's anyone's guess if those were informed votes. When Wile speaks at council, her most coherent statements are to say that she doesn't understand what's going on; otherwise she just sort of babbles. She'll repeat truisms repeatedly---we should take the elderly seriously, business people don't like taxes, commuters don't want to sit in traffic---but these observations are just random, and not tied to any policy initiatives.

The best-case scenario is that Wile reflexively votes the way she thinks she would’ve voted back in the day, when she schmoozed with developers and other assorted movers and shakers. More likely, somebody just tells her how to vote.

Maybe electing Wile is a perverse joke on the part of residents of Clayton Park on the rest of us, but the joke’s getting really stale.
