Halifax Common Skate Park

Though pitifully small for our skateboard-crazed colony, The Bowl is the best (legal) place to skate in Halifax. Located in the old drained duckpond on the Common, the smooth concrete crater was planted, along with a nice paved run up, by the Recreation Dept in the autumn of ‘95. Since then, skateboarders have been happily slipping, sliding and grinding in relative safety. From the police that is, but not from “urban artists” (spray paint makes the surface slippery). The Bowl is close to the Bell Road/Summer Street intersection, not far from Citadel High School and the NS Museum of Natural History. All are welcome, go take a run.
