The always-expanding Mezza empire does not, and will not, rest on its laurels. With a consistently great Best of Halifax Hall of Fame-worthy shawarma among the delicious items on its menu, the takeout/eat-in Lebanese joint could easily just kick back, chill and watch the diners, both lunchtime and late-night, flow through all day with pita wraps in hand. But nah. This year, the flagship Barrington Street location underwent some major renovations to update its look to match all of its super-stylized sibling locations, continued to expand its menu (hello Mediterranean bowl!) and has even started selling some of its well-known star ingredients (fuck me up, garlic sauce) to customers to take home. All this and more has BOH voters in an empire state of mind.
