Best Karaoke Night

Gold Winner Laurie the Guy, Lion's Head Tavern & Grill

Silver Winner Dave Smith, Oasis

Bronze Winner The Mimi Show, Bearly's House of Blues & Ribs

“When l started in 1991, l did not think that this karaoke thing would last this long, and the crowds at the Lion's Head are showing no signs of slowing down, averaging 40 singers a night. Sometimes over 60 show up to sing, with another 100 people showing up to watch party and dance,” says the king of karaoke, Laurie “The Guy” Goulden of his five Best of wins in a row. He’s still kicking it behind the mic many nights of the week—Mondays at Staggers, Tuesdays at Monte’s and, of course, his award-winning show Fridays at the Lion’s Head. “The nights when a singer performs a song that connects with the audience, and they explode in applause, it is an amazing experience,” says Goulden. “And l am proud just to be in the same room to witness it.”
