Ben Caplan is a busy beard, as always. In between runs of the 2b Theatre show Old Stock, which he co-wrote and stars in (its world premiere was at The Waiting Room in May; it goes to Off-Broadway for seven weeks in March), he’s staying out on the road, belting his energetic klezmer folk the world over. “I was on tour in the Balkans when I found out I won,” he says. “Specifically in Kosovo. It's hard to imagine being farther from home. And yet there you were, Halifax, to remind me that I am still loved in the city that cradled and launched my career. I love you too, Halifax. I can't wait to come home to drink coffee in your cafes and play Christmas songs with your symphony [December 1 and 2 at the Cohn]. Sending you kisses from the road.”
