One trip to Halifax was all it took for Kristin Johnston. “It was kind of an ‘aha moment’,” she says. “It was like, this is where I want to live and I have to figure out how I can.” After discovering there was no Bikram yoga east of Montreal, the deal was sealed and now she’s spent the last two years helping Haligonians challenge their bodies and minds to stick it out in 42-degree heat. “I've poured my heart into it, trying to make my students feel welcome,” says Johnston. “And now I have students that are like family to me.”
