It’s damn near impossible for a car dealership to score enviro points, but Hillcrest Volkswagen has won scads of them, by working with the Ecology Action Centre to start the Steerclean jalopy replacement program and instituting its own idle-free system, and manager Mike Velemirovich helped start Halifax’s CarShare operation. More, they’re just fine folks, always helping out with community events and fundraisers, which has won them a lot of good will.
