With Bark & Fitz’s closure this past year, there’s a new pet supply store BOH champ, and it’s Pet Valu, squeezed into a ground-level storefront on Halifax’s main drag. Carrying pet food for cats, dogs, bunnies, fish and anything in between, Pet Valu has the competitive prices and helpful staff that voters love. Lina Clarke, co-owner, says they try to listen to their customers’ needs. “When people come into the store they’re surprised at the size of the store and they’re surprised at the selection we carry,” she says. “We also always have dogs and cats visiting the store, so how could you not have a happy staff?”
